The four maple syrup grades are shown in this chart. From lighter to darker, the grades are: Golden Color Delicate Taste; Amber Color Rich Taste; Dark Color Robust Taste; Very Dark Color Strong Taste. The lighter the color, the milder the taste. The maple syrup industry in the US and Canada recently adopted these new grading standards. The older grading system included Grade B. For conisuerriers wishing to buy Grade B, select Very Dark Strong Taste.
